Bedrock users will see a hub for this event in the main menu, where you can jump right into the server. If you're a Java edition user, you'll have to use the Bedrock version to access it and then transfer the reward to your account afterward. Transport to the Outer Walls to go against the deadly Ghasts. Approach the gate and whip out your bow and arrow to kill anything that comes out of the portals. You'll likely encounter Piglins initially, but the Ghasts should eventually appear. Shoot them with enough arrows until you have gotten rid of 20 Ghasts.

How to complete Farm Mobs, not Crops quest

• Task: Kill 200 enemies
• Rewards:
  • Mushroom Hat
  • 500 gems
  • 1,000 EXP

The Farm Mobs, not Crops quest, works with any location with enemies inside. Use your bow and arrow or sword to eliminate 200 mobs. It'll undoubtedly take some time, but it'll all be worth it once you get the Yearn Cape and the Mushroom Hat from the Dressing Room.

How to complete Protect the Cart quest

• Task: Deliver Carts with 40 percent health in the Wilderness
• Rewards:
  • Kadoosh! Emote
  • 500 gems
  • 1,000 EXP

Enter the Wilderness to locate the Payload Cart. Numerous enemies will try to attack it, and you'll have to eliminate them with your sword or bow and arrow. Fortunately, other players will help you out here, where you can cover all sides of the Payload. Keep the Cart at 40 percent health, or you'll lose out on progress for this objective.

How to complete Low on Iron quest

• Task: Clear five waves with at least two Iron Golems alive in the Outer Walls
• Rewards:
  • Jet Pack
  • 500 gems
  • 1,000 EXP

While you're defending the Outer Walls, you'll see a few Iron Golems on the ground. The Piglins will try to take them down, and it's best to use your bow and arrow to clear hordes of them (swords won't do much in this minigame). You only need two Iron Golems alive, so don't worry too much if enemies kill off one or more.

How to complete Mine Diamonds quest

• Task 1: Retrieve 60 Diamonds
• Task 2: Complete five quests
• Rewards:
  • Yearn Cape
  • 500 gems
  • 1,000 EXP

Complete at least five Minecraft Movie Live Event quests to get closer to the Yearn Cape. You'll also have to mine 60 Diamonds from the Mines, using your reliable pickaxe. After you've accomplished both objectives, check your Dressing Room to equip your new cape.

Call of Duty's double XP events are the ultimate opportunity for boosting XP, whether you're chasing Prestige ranks or unlocking weapon attachments. These events often appear without warning, leaving players scrambling to prepare. To help you keep track, here's when the next double XP weekend hits for Black Ops 6.

BO6 Double XP weekend release date

According to Black Ops 6's in-game event page, the next double XP weekend lands on March 28, 2025, at 10am PT/1pm ET/5pm GMT. It will likely conclude by April 1, 2025, giving you a few days to gather as many experience points as possible. It should also work for Warzone if you want to stick to the free-to-play experience.

Hop onto BO6 Multiplayer to earn double experience points from eliminations, captures, and assists. It'll count towards Medal XP for even more rewards, getting you higher up on the battle pass tiers. If you're a Zombies enthusiast, you'll also earn double points, making it the perfect time to stack up on those valuable Gobblegums. Zombies mode, in particular, is one of the best ways to farm XP during these weekends. But Multiplayer is still beneficial for farming, especially with the likes of Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint.

When the double XP weekend is active, you cannot use any of your tokens. Just save them for later whenever you need a 15-minute or hour-long boost. Tokens and XP weekends basically work the same, but the former is slightly more limiting.

Since Season 3 is almost here, I wouldn't be surprised to see another double XP weekend around April 3. But if not, it'll likely come up again during the midseason point, which has often happened in the past. At the time of writing, Clover Craze is the only event that is active. Collect clovers to earn St. Patrick's Day rewards and reach the final tier to claim two exclusive weapon skins. It will conclude by March 26, 2025, gearing up for the Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3 release.

All upcoming events for BO6 and Warzone in 2025

A Double XP event is on its way for the weekend, which will help immensely with player and weapon grinding. We'll likely see a new lineup of celebrations upon the Season 3 release, featuring the return of Verdansk. Zombies mode will also get a new map, known as "Shattered Veil." We've seen a few teasers here and there for this undead location, which may be tied to Black Ops 4’s The Order content. MH Wilds Lagiacrus release date

According to the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 showcase, the Lagiacrus is expected to be released in the summer of 2025. If you consider the timing of the first Title Update, we may anticipate an early June launch, but it could potentially arrive later in July.

While the official redesign of the Lagiacrus is still under wraps, a sneak peek at the end of the showcase offers a preview. Catch a glimpse of its iconic claws gripping another monster, along with its striking, scaled body—promising a fearsome return to the waters.

This announcement suggests underwater combat could finally make its way to Monster Hunter Wilds. If true, it would revolutionize the gameplay, just like it did with Trio. Underwater battles have always been challenging in the gaming world, so it'd be interesting to see Wilds' take on it.

In the previous Monster Hunter iterations, the Lagiacrus unleashed electricity from its back and took advantage of the water to inflict tons of damage. Once its health was reduced, it would scurry away to land, changing its tactics with the new terrain.

Monster Hunter Wilds will likely follow a similar formula, where players can break its tail, claw, and horns. You can also look forward to a new armor set, potentially teeming with the striking blue tones of the King of the Sea. It'll infuse your gear with a classic aquatic aesthetic, perfect for the watery theme of Summer.

While the Assassin's Creed franchise is known for its violent nature, there are occasional humoristic moments that add a whimsical flair. AC: Shadows encompasses one of these bizarre situations where you'll discover the Melon Lord Easter Egg. Here's a guide on whether you should choose Suika or Makuwauri.

AC Shadows: Melon Lord Easter Egg location

Before we dive into the decision process, you should know where to find the Melon Lord Easter Egg first. It'll be on the northern side of the Izumi Settsu province, within the Suika Lands.

Travel up the hill, and you should find a rundown village there. You'll see the two intriguing melon NPCs fighting here, allowing you to approach them for a unique choice experience. Don't worry; you won't get hit by their attacks. Well, at least not yet.

AC Shadows: Should you choose Suika or Makuwauri?

You'll initially speak to Suika No Bakemono (the one wearing a watermelon), who will tell you about his family's battle against the Makuwauri melon clan. He'll then ask you, "Which is your favorite? The delicious suika, or the mediocre makuwauri?" Suika means "Watermelon" in Japanese, while makuwauri translates to "melon." After selecting both options, I've deduced it doesn't matter which one you pick since they both present the same rewards. I've also noticed that both dialogue options don't impact the "Unknown Organization" hit list, otherwise known as the "Yokai" group. Although Suika is one of the targets in this questline, you don't have to choose to fight him to complete this objective. He will always be spared.

You will gain the Damage after Ability Engraving and +2,000 XP, no matter your decision. But their outcomes are relatively different. If you choose "I prefer the suika," you'll battle the one with the melon on its head, and vice versa for the makuwauri. The battle shouldn't be too challenging, though it does seem to match the difficulty level of your current rank. You may have an easier time using Yasuke due to his robust strength.

Defeat the Makuwauri No Bakemono to unlock the "Melon Lord" title for the suika. Or take down Suika No Bakemono to give this title to the makuwauri. You can go with your own personal preferences for this Assassin's Creed Shadows choice, since it won't have any negative impact when choosing a specific one. Naturally, the one you’re heading into battle with is bound to be a bit miffed at your decision, but it isn't as monumental as some of the other major dialogue points.

After you've defeated one of these characters, they'll begin an endless conversation where you can't interact with them anymore. I tried to see if any changes happened to them throughout the seasons, yet they continue to be in this discussion. Since Lego Fortnite's release, we've gotten new recipes to spice things up in the Odyssey world. The Recycler is among the latest builds of the March 2025 update, breathing new life into age-old items. Find out how to unlock, craft, and use the Recycler in Lego Fortnite Odyssey.

How to unlock the Recycler station recipe in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

To unlock the Recycler, you must craft or interact with the Stone Breaker. The Stone Breaker is one of the first recipes you can get in Lego Fortnite Odyssey, requiring 20 Planks and 35 Granite. Use Wood at the Lumber Mill to gather planks. Granite can be found almost anywhere when interacting with rocks.

Once you've crafted the Stone Breaker, you'll receive a notification of the new Recycler recipe. This is one of the unique features of Lego Fortnite Odyssey, where you must first construct standard builds to unlock others.

How to craft Recycler in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

You can craft the Recyler with three Wooden Rods and four Granite Slabs. Use the Stone Crafter you just built/interacted with to gain Granite Slab. Then, you can utilize the Lumber Mill again for the Wooden Rods.

Set the Recycler down anywhere on your property, but make sure it's in a secure spot—because the last thing you need is the Storm King crashing in and wrecking everything you've worked for. Keep it safe, keep it smart.

How to use Recycler in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

The Recycler station transforms all your crafted items into the materials used in its recipe. Any unneeded Charms and weaponry can be placed inside the queue, which then goes to the processing area and Recycled Items. For example, if I placed a Granite Axe inside, it would give me some Granite Slab and Wood.  

General resources—like Wood, Rune Tomes, and/or Torches—won't work, as the Recycler only works with crafted builds. It's best to utilize this station for any weapons you've picked up from enemies. I've collected plenty of gear from these fights, so it'll definitely come in handy for you, too.

The Assassin's Creed Shadows world encompasses many Japanese myths and legends, continuing the series' long tradition of blending history with mythic allure. In particular, you can unlock the Last Dance of the Onryo Mask and Robe to equip Naoe with a frightening new armor. Here's where to find this gear.

Where to find Last Dance of the Onryo Robe in AC Shadows

You can find the Last Dance of the Onryo Robe in the Wakasa province's Grave of the Three Emperors. This area is in between the Shattered Coast and Onyu Pass. If you're just starting in Assassin's Creed Shadows, you may want to save this location for later due to the enemies' Level 29 difficulty. But you may be able to get by even with a lower ranking, given that there are no enemies at the Grave of the Three Emperors.

Locate the main building here, and you should uncover a Legendary Chest hidden in the back. It'll be below a set of large rocks. Open the chest to acquire the Legendary Robe and gain a unique armor Engraving.

Onryo Robe ability

The Onryo Robe comes with the Cheat Death Engraving, letting you avoid death and gain immunity for eight seconds one time. That'll give you a second chance whenever you're overwhelmed by enemy attacks. You'll know it's in effect when you glow white, giving you time to replenish your health with rations. If you don't heal yourself, you may end up dead after the Cheat Death ability depletes.

Where to find Last Dance of the Onryo Mask in AC Shadows

Like the Robe, you can discover the Last Dance of the Onryo Mask in Wakasa, inside the Obama area's Yaobikuni Cave. Be warned; there is a Level 29 or higher enemy here, so be sure to come prepared for a grueling fight.

While on the pathway from Shattered Coast to Obama, you'll find the entrance to Yaobikuni Cave. It's fairly dark inside, but fortunately, the pathway is straightforward. Once you've traveled through the cracks of the rocky terrain, you'll encounter an enemy guarding a Legendary Chest. Eliminate them to acquire the Onryo Mask and its distinct Engraving. You can also travel further up Wakasa to unlock an exclusive Katsuhime romance scene (you'll have to progress through the main campaign to trigger this moment.)

Onryo Mask ability

The Mask grants the Health after Ability Engraving, restoring five percent of Health on the next hit after using Abilities. Any time you've activated one of Naoe's Abilities, you'll most likely trigger this Engraving skill. All in all, the Legendary Onryo Mask and Robe are excellent for healing buffs, prolonging Naoe's survivability. You can also attach an additional Engraving at the Blacksmith's Forge for more armor benefits.

If you equip the Last Dance of the Onryo Mask and Robe together, you can earn the AC: Shadows trophy: Better than a Bucket. The achievement unlocks after you've equipped a Legendary gear in both armor slots.

If there s any news regarding the official times, we'll update this guide once more information has been released. I suggest clearing out your storage, as Call of Duty seasonal drops typically range from 30GB to 50GB. It may even be higher if Black Ops 6 Zombies content is included in the file. But players who only play Warzone don't need to download patches exclusive to BO6, given that the files are separated.

Pre-load patches will be available to prepare you for the Season 3 launch. While Battle.net users generally get to download it a few days early, console players may have to wait until the day of or the night before.

Every hunter needs to have an arsenal of gadgets as a means to further their survivability. You'll have a few items to work with initially, but they aren't exactly the best in the business. So, if you're curious about setting up your build, here's our Mo.Co gadget tier list.

Best Mo.Co Gadgets, ranked

The Splash Heal is the first gadget you'll receive in Mo.Co, acting as a starter kit for your hunter journey. While it lends a hand in support, other items lean more towards offensive strategies. We'll begin this Mo.Co tier list with the elite S tier and work our way down to the relatively adequate C ranks.

S Tier

Since the Vitamin Shot helps out with healing and attacks, it may be one of the most well-rounded gadgets in Mo.Co. Its cooldown rate of 10 seconds can also go by rather quickly, giving you more opportunities to use it in battle. While the Multi-Zapper takes a bit to boot up, this gadget boasts the highest DPS in Mo.Co. Plus, it'll stun nearby monsters to help you out even more.

A Tier

If you're tired of waiting for gadget cooldowns, the Monster Taser is the perfect remedy, refreshing every five seconds. Use it to inflict high amounts of damage on a monster and stun nearby enemies. All in all, the entirety of A Tier is designed for tremendous DPS rates, clearing out those pesky monsters in an instant.

B Tier

The B Tier Mo.Co gadgets cater to specific playstyles, particularly if you're a support-heavy hunter. Items like Splash Heal, Life Jacket, and Revitalizing Mist are excellent for these types of players; however, they aren't so great for offense. Fortunately, you can save it as a secondary gadget slot and utilize the other one for attack buffs.

The rest of the B-tier gadgets can be used by those who want to improve their offense. They won't be as powerful as the S and A Tiers, yet they do have some benefits with decent damage rates.

C Tier

Although the Smart Fireworks come in handy during the beginning stages, they won't be as helpful later on. The other gadgets are just way more robust than this item, but I still suggest using the Smart Fireworks as a starter kit and then advancing further to higher tiers. The same goes for the Explosive 6-Pack, which only has some advantages for DPS.

D Tier

The Super Loud Whistle may be one of the worst gadgets to use in Mo.Co, especially since all surrounding monsters will start gunning for you. Despite its healing properties, opting for the Splash Heal is best. That way, you can replenish your health without any enemies coming for you.

Like the whistle, Shelldon is also relatively ineffective, as it doesn't stay too long on the battlefield. This gadget's ability to take in 50 percent less damage doesn't work all the time, so it's fairly easy for the enemy to knock it out.

In addition to the primary targets in the Onryo questline, you'll unlock the hit list for the mysterious Butterfly Collectors. Although the quests provide you with a few clues, it's still pretty challenging to search for them. Here's how to find all Butterfly Collector targets in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

AC Shadows Butterfly Collector target locations

The first thing you need to do for the Butterfly Collector quest is to find all 10 butterflies in Osaka. These clues will point you to the target's vicinity and unlock their corresponding missions. We'll break down each Butterfly Collecter target location within the Osaka province.

Richo location

You must find a burnt well to discover a rumor about Richo's location. It'll be above Osaka's Gear Vendor, where you'll encounter two gardeners.

Listen to the gardener's location; they'll lead you to a hidden bamboo grove in Noda Village. Travel north of Osaka Castle to find this village, and you'll uncover a cabin in the grove. Go near this house to find Richo gardening. Once you've eliminated Richo, help the child in the cabin and follow her home. Mucho location

After discovering the Secret Origami Message from Mucho, you must travel to Kojo Ruins, where you'll hear a woman and a child arguing. Kojo Ruins is to the left of the Temple of Osaka and Fisherman's District, towards the water. Mucho will try to run away if she sees you, so try to be quick with the elimination before she escapes.

Shucho location

Unlike Richo and Mucho, you must find the escaped child first before killing Shucho. Head south of the Fisherman's District near the bridge connecting Sakai and Osaka. You'll find the kid hiding in a horse stable.

The child will tell you where Shucho is, which shouldn't be too far from your current location. Go to the waterside of Fisherman's District, and you'll find her next to some guards.

You'll likely get in trouble for killing Shucho, but you can just run away from the guards to avoid them.

Kacho location

To locate the leader of the Butterfly Collector, you must complete the Forest Fugitive (Richo), Paper Trail, Safe as Sandals (second Richo sub-quest), and Chrysalis missions. For the Paper Trail, you'll find the Paper Merchant near the Temple of Osaka. Speak to him to receive more information about Kacho.

The Chrysalis quest requires you to investigate a hideout near Fishermen's District. Pick up the piece of paper inside, and you'll have all the clues you need to locate Kacho.

Travel to the Nishionomaru Garden, to the left of Osaka Castle.

You'll see Kacho there surrounded by butterflies. Eliminate her to progress further in the AC: Shadows Butterfly Collector quest.

Should you choose 'You must pay for your actions' or 'You must start anew' in the Butterfly Collector quest?

Now that you've defeated four Butterfly Collector targets, you'll learn about the last member, the Gamemaker. It's the same person you've interacted with during the origami butterfly hunt. Return to her, and you'll have to decide to either kill or spare her. Both options give you Ebisu's Gamble Common Bow and 225 Mon. However, if you spare her, you will get an additional Butterfly of Benevolence Rare Amulet gift. Since the non-violent route offers a third reward, it's best to choose 'You must start anew.' This choice, more or less, brings out the "good" ending of this tale, considering that Kacho is a victim of the evil group.

The Trinket gives Naoe or Yasuke additional Health, Adrenaline Gain, and Critical Chance buffs. The in-game description also indicates that it offers +100% origami skills, but I don't really see any benefits for this particular ability.

You can also go to the in-game store to purchase the Kanabo and Naginata outright through the Kaen or Gashadokuro packs. A few other side quests provide you with these weapons, but I have to explore the map more to find them. I'll be sure to update this guide once I discover which missions give them to you as a reward. For now, we'll focus on unlocking them through AC: Shadows' main campaign.

Which main quest unlocks Yasuke's Naginata in AC: Shadows?

As a bladed melee weapon, the Naginata helps with multiple targets at the slight cost of defense. You can unlock it by eliminating the Naginata, also known as Akechi Kagemitsu.

Complete the following missions to find Kagemitsu:

• Lady of Whispers: Walk down memory lane with Lady Nene as Yasuke
• An Evening in Otsu: Speak to Aoi and eliminate ambushers at Seta Bridge
• Against the Koga-ryu: Meet up with Shotei and Katsuhime
• Showdown at Sakamoto: Eliminate Gamo Yoshimitsu and Akechi Kagemitsu

The final mission, Showdown at Sakamoto, rewards you with the Sage's Reach Legendary Naginata. You'll finally unlock the Naginata tree in the Mastery, upgrading it with the points you acquire throughout the story. If you want to spice up your journey, this mission also paves the way to Naoe's Katsuhime romance story.

Which main quest unlocks Yasuke's Kanabo in AC: Shadows?

If you've watched the Shadows trailers, you may have seen Yasuke wielding the mighty Kanabo. This two-handed club has tremendous damage rates, ultimately knocking off an enemy's armor. However, given its massive size, it will make Yasuke fairly slow in movement. You can unlock the Kanabo by defeating the Ox (Bessho Harumasa) in the Shinbakufu quests.

Here's a look into the missions you must complete to reach this battle:

• A Voice in Anger: Help the abbot in Harima province and free Nakamura Tadashige
• Astray: Retrieve the Ox's invasion plan at the Hiraiyama Fort
• Brothers in Arms: Talk to the mysterious ronin north of Miki Docks (Harima) and kill/spare Commander Seiji
• Of My Enemy: Speak to Hiromichi and eliminate the Ox's lieutenant
• Broken Horn: Return to Nakamura Tadashige, kill the five teppo-wielding guards, and assassinate the Ox.

When facing Bessho Harumasa, you must dodge his Kanabo attacks. Luckily, these swings are pretty easy to dodge due to the weapon's slow movements. Defeat him, and he will drop the Legendary Daybreak's Fury. Equip it whenever dealing with armored foes, helping you turn the tide in the battle. Defeating the formidable Wada Koretake will be tough to do alone, so you'll need a few allies to get you through. The NPC Mitsumune can help you with this elimination, but you'll need to locate him first. Find out where to find Mitsumune at Nunobiki Falls in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

AC Shadows Mitsumune location in Stolen Faith quest

To find Nonobiki Falls in Assassin's Creed Shadows, look to the west of Izumi Settsu. You'll discover the Amagasaki fast travel point here, to the left of Katano Foothills.

Head north of Amagasaki to get closer to Mitsumune's location, triggering the discovery of Nunobiki Falls. Naoe will also notify you when you are near it.

At the bottom of Nunobiki Falls, you'll find Mitsumune washing clothes. Naoe will try to persuade him to help with the fight against Wada Koretake; however, he won't be convinced unless you return a stolen statue to him.

How to retrieve the statue in Stolen Faith AC Shadows quest

While at the falls, look to the right to spot Senri Hills. Travel towards the water to locate the Toneyama Post Town. Be warned; you may have to fight off a few enemies here, including a mini-boss that guards the statue. If you want to prepare for this fight, check out our Naoe weapon tier list to defeat these foes quickly.

The statue is inside a building at the center of Toneyama Post Town. Use your aim to find its blue marker inside. You should also loot the chests next to it, dropping rewards like the Vigilant Katana of Bravery and the Shrouded Shinobi Robes. Additionally, there's a place where you can smuggle resources nearby, so ensure to use your Scouts to help with Hideout upgrades.

Return to Mitsumune at Nunobiki Falls to deliver the statue. Although he'll be grateful for your efforts, he doesn't think his men are ready to cause more bloodshed. When Mitsumune asks you if you're prepared for this violent outcome, you can choose 'I am ready' or 'I'm uncertain.' It doesn't relatively matter which one you pick, as both outcomes are the same. You'll earn +1,000 XP and Mitsumune's help in the Wada Koretake showdown. It'll lead you to the new recruit, Yaya, expanding your AC: Shadows team.

You can charm your way to Katsuhime's heart during six quests, where you must choose specific dialogue points. The first mission won't be as steamy as the others, as this will be the first time you meet her (got to start somewhere, right?) Let's break down all the talking points you need to hit to romance Katsuhime in AC: Shadows:

The romance dialogue choices typically come up during each mission's conclusion. That means you'll have to go against several challenging enemies, all in the name of love. If you aren't sure how to complete these quests, we'll go over each one to help you get through them.

How to complete Against the Koga-ryu quest

You can start the Against the Koga-ryu mission from the main campaign questline, The Naginata. This enemy is a part of the Onryo hit list Naoe and Yasuke have been knocking out together.

You'll meet Katsuhime at the top of Enryakuji Temple in Omi. Defeat the four enemies there, and you'll earn the Sharpshooter trophy once the quest wraps up.

How to complete Showdown in Sakamoto

The Showdown in Sakamoto quest will trigger right after the Against the Koga-ryu quest. You must locate Shotei at the top of Sakamoto Tower (above the town). You'll switch to Yasuke as you take down the boss, Gamo Yoshimitsu. Then, you'll gain control of Naoe, where you can make your first romance choice. Tell her that you like her teppo, and things will start to heat up between the two of you.

It'll get even hotter when you have to destroy the three explosives shortly after, utilizing Naoe's Kunais. You can avoid conflict by aiming for the explosives on top of buildings. The last two steps require you to meet up with Katsuhime again and eliminate the boss, Akechi Kagemitsu.

How to complete Letter from Katsuhime

With the Showdown in Sakamoto quest out of the way, you should now see Katsuhime's new quest on the Objectives board. It'll be under the League section near Yaya's recruit quest.

Track the Letter from Katsuhime's quest and travel to Omi's The Shimmering Fields. You'll have to retrieve some sake for her in Koga. Look for a ladder here leading underground.

Pick up the sake and return to Katsuhime. The second romance choice appears at this point, in which you must choose "It offers time with me."

How to complete The Tale of Genin

The Tale of Genin quest brings a challenge, as the enemies may be at Level 29 (can be higher depending on your level). Be sure to upgrade your weapons with resources or gold. You'll have to go to Wakasa, one of the most difficult provinces in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Travel to Katsuhime's waypoint and help her investigate what happened to her friends.

Find three signs of struggle: one inside the house, one outside, and the last across the bridge (following a blood trail). You can also talk to the man outside the home to gather more information.

Kill the four pirates at the end of the path, and then check on Sada for the next romance dialogue point. Tell Katsuhime, "I do enjoy your company," to move on to the following stage of Naoe's romance journey.

How to complete The Diary of Lady Rokkaku

Once you've begun the Diary of Lady Rokkaku, Naoe's shot at love is within your grasp. Head over to Omi, where you'll find a letter from Katsuhime.

She's gone and got herself in trouble, so you must rescue her from Isono Kazumasa. It's absolutely crucial to save Katsuhime as quickly as possible to keep her from dying. You're under a time crunch here, so don't bother fighting any enemies and use the rooftops/platforms ahead to reach her.

Eliminate Isono Kazumasa and other enemies to get them away from Katsuhime. Next, carry her to the lower-level doorway, but be careful of the other foes ahead.

I suggest setting her down and getting rid of anyone in this pathway. After you've carried her out the doorway, you now have the option to recruit Katsuhime. Before this happens, she'll want to meet with you elsewhere, where you'll finally get the romance scene.

How to complete The Jounin Pillow Book

The Jounin Pillow Book quest is a pretty straightforward one since you'll have all the romance choices laid out in front of you. Return to Wakasa to find Katsuhime on the northern side of this province.

I won't reveal any spoilers, but let's just say things get reasonably intense when you tell Katsuhime, "Let's find out." There's also a second choice that allows you to seal the deal as her one and only or reject her. Naoe does have one another romantic interest, so it's up to you whether you want to stay faithful to Katsuhime or get your flirt on with someone else.

How to recruit Katsuhime in AC Shadows

You can recruit Katsuhime during The Diary of Lady Rokkaku quest, requiring you to rescue her. As long as you've saved her, she'll be grateful to you and willingly accept your offer to join the team. If you romanced her, you'll unlock the additional side mission, The Jounin Pillow Book. But if you just kept things friendly, you'll simply find her at the Hideout.

Katsuhime is an excellent teppo specialist who takes on the role of your fire support in battles. Call on her anytime there are too many enemies to deal with, and she'll prove her worthiness through her one-shot kills.

Where to find all Legendary Katanas in AC: Shadows

A few Legendary Katanas can be found early on in your journey, starting from the beginner Izumi Settsu region. Each weapon's stats will differ depending on your current rank (the higher the level, the higher the DPS rates). However, it'll always have the same unique skill attached to it, which can be upgraded through the Hideout's Forge. Let's break down each Legendary Katana location in AC: Shadows (I'll also note the recommended levels for these regions):

Bloodshade - Izumi Settsu

• Recommended Level: Level 4 or higher
• Skill: Affliction Buildup is not lost over time

You'll see a ship off in the distance to the left of Osaka, where a Legendary Chest resides. Like most places, you'll have to fend off enemies here to roam around this vessel freely. Travel up to the building at the top to unlock the Legendary Chest for the Bloodshade Legendary Katana.

Masked Death - Iga

• Recommended Level: Level 23
• Skill: Posture attack remains charged after Dodge

On the northern side of Iga, you can open the Masked Death Legendary Chest near Otogi Pass. You'll likely have to conclude Act 1 to reach this area, where you should be approaching the Level 20 mark. Once you gain access to Iga's Otogi Pass, look below a large rock to spot the Legendary Chest next to some crates.

Yami no Kage - Harima

• Skill: Deal 100% damage to the attacker on Deflect
• Recommended Level: Level 25

The Yami no Kage Legendary Katana is deep inside the Hiraiyama Fort. As a Level 25 fortress, you'll undoubtedly face some challenges along the way, especially with the might of the two Samurai Daishos. I highly suggest increasing your rank before embarking on this level since the enemies can one-hit kill you. If you can defeat the Samurai Daishos, you'll unlock the Yami no Kage Legendary Chest at the very top of the castle.

Iga's Flame - Yamato

• Recommended Level: Level 29
• Skill: +1% Affliction Buildup per Adrenaline Chunk filled

Head towards the Mount Nukai fast travel point on the western side of Yamato. While at this location, look above to see a gold circle in the bamboo. If you're using Yasuke, you must switch to Naoe to climb to this spot. A hidden cave will be there, containing yet another Legendary Chest.

Carved Bone Katana - Store

• Recommended Level: Sword will match your current player level
• Skill: +100% Critical Chance after not attacking for five seconds

You can acquire the Carved Bone Katana through the Naoe Gashadokuro Pack. It'll cost you 1,800 Helix Credits, around $19.99 in the store. However, you can also get the sword by itself for 450 Helix Credits ($4.99).

Eye of the Dragon - Store

• Recommended Level: Sword will match your current player level
• Skill: +35% damage when facing a single enemy

Like the Carved Bone, the Eye of the Dragon Legendary Katana can be found in the store. The pack costs $19.99, while the standalone sword version goes for $4.99.

During the Searching for Sakai quest, you'll have to find Imai Sokyu, who may have some information about the deadly Onryo group. Since the instructions for this mission are relatively vague, we'll show you Imai Sokyu's location in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

AC: Shadows Imai Sokyu location

You can find Imai Sokyu south of Sakai, near the Money Changer and Sakai Firearm Districts. Use your aim to pinpoint his quest marker, saving you from using your Scouts.

It'll take you over to a house, where you'll discover Sokyu and his son, Sokun, sitting at a table. Unfortunately, Sokyu won't speak to you quite yet, but you can request an audience with him through Imai Sokun.

Searching for Sakai: Shizuka, Sanuki, and Shigure choice, explained

When speaking to Sokun, he'll ask, "What shall I call you?" You can't reveal Naoe's real name, so you must choose between Shizuka, Sanuki, and Shigure. It doesn't matter which one you pick; however, you'll need to remember the one you've selected. NPCs will ask you for your name later on, and they can get confused when you use a different one.

If you do happen to choose the wrong name in the future, it shouldn't impact this quest's outcome too much. You'll just have to go through the embarrassment of the NPC's snarly looks when you pick the incorrect dialogue point.

You'll conclude the AC: Shadows Searching Sakai quest shortly after this conversation. Expect an XP boost of +1,000, increasing your player rank for high-tier weapons and equipment. It'll also open up two more side quests in the Onryo's Golden Teppo storyline. You must prepare yourself for a tea ceremony, including acquiring a Kosode in southwestern Sakai and speaking to a tea merchant in northern Sakai. Complete these two tasks to get closer to the woman with the gold-trimmed teppo, rewarding you with one of the best weapons for Naoe.

Not only does Assassin's Creed Shadows challenge you with combat, but it also tests your mind with tricky questions. One such moment arises when a noble asks you about the origins of a mysterious seashell. To solve this riddle, here's which province the seashell hails from in AC: Shadows.

What is the correct answer to the noble's riddle in AC: Shadows?

In the Iga region, you may encounter a noblewoman (her appearance may look different each playthrough) near the Mibuno Vale's Gear Vendor. However, keep in mind that her location can change due to the randomness of these NPC events. You may also need to switch to Naoe to get her to spawn. The woman will shout out that she wants to show something to you, and you must accept the 'Look' prompt to uncover a tiny seashell. The noble will then ask, "Which province is it from?" Choose 'I believe it's from Wakasa' to get the correct answer.

If you choose the other answer with Kyoto, the woman will explain how this area is a city, not a province. The second option relating to Omi produces more or less the same result, as there are no beaches in this area. When selecting the final answer with Wakasa, the noble will be delighted and compliment your cleverness. She'll reward you with a World Rumor and mark a waypoint on the map, similar to the Scout system.

For me, the World Rumor triggered a waypoint in Hijiyama, where an enigmatic ronin fights to defend a village. This may differ for you, but no matter what, it should bring up a quest for you in Iga.

Although the Omi answer produces a negative result, it could potentially include another event later. After I selected this option, Naoe told the woman, "See you in Tsuruga," as if they were meeting up later. The other two options don't have this dialogue scene, so I'd be curious if you can find her in Wakasa afterward. Fortunately, Wakasa isn't too far from Iga, and you can try to see if another questionnaire pops up with her there. While on Naoe's quest for revenge, you'll have the chance to add powerful allies to your journey. Yaya will be one of the first ones you'll encounter, but you must make the right decisions to get her to join your group. Find out how to recruit Yaya in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

How do you recruit Yaya in AC: Shadows?

You can meet up with Yaya during the Fatherless Monk quest, which is a part of Wada Koretake's storyline (The Onryo section). After eliminating this boss in the Heads Will Roll mission, you must choose specific dialogue points when Yaya is involved. These instances will occur three times, and it's essential to get them right at least twice (it's fine if you make a mistake once). Here are the dialogue options you need to select for Yaya's recruitment in AC: Shadows (shown in bold):

• Heads Will Roll Quest (Wada Koretake assassination) Choice:
  • Killing them isn't justice
  • Justice must be served
• Stray Dog Quest Choice:
  • We forgive him
  • We punish him
• Stray Dog Quest Choice #2:
  • You need to forgive each other
  • You need to take responsibility

Yaya is all about keeping the peace, so it's best to take the non-violent route. If you choose to spare the people in Heads Will Roll, she will ultimately respect this decision, positively influencing her relationship with you. However, you'll need to continue on this peaceful path in the following quest: Stray Dog.

Track the Stray Dog mission on the League Objectives board, which will take you to Osaka in the Izumi Settsu region. Travel south of Osaka Temple and help Yaya take down some foes. You'll encounter a similar choice to Heads Will Roll, where you must decide the fate of an enemy. Choose to forgive him, and Yaya will be more pleased with your answer.

After selecting this choice, follow Yaya and retrieve the Kanzashi at the Church of Takatsuki. Speak to Tetsuo to progress further in this quest. Although he'll run away from you, Yaya will help you out and chase him down. Stick to the path of forgiveness, and you'll finally get to ask Yaya to join your group.

If you've chosen two of the three dialogue choices mentioned above, she'll be added to your Hideout, letting you call on her to tackle and knock out opponents. Otherwise, she will flat-out refuse your proposal, restricting you from using her in battle. I tried to see if there was a way to recruit her after her rejection, and there seemed to be no way to change. You may need to use a previous save file before you make those decisions.

Almost every major location in Assassin's Creed Shadows holds a random event. One such occurrence can happen in Sakai, where a man asks you to solve a riddle. Find out what the correct answer is.

What is the correct answer to the man's riddle in Assassin's Creed Shadows?

While roaming Sakai in Izumi Settsu, you may encounter a man near the Kakurega. You must wager 50 Mon to start the riddle challenge, where he will also wager 50 Mon. He'll then give you the riddle: "I am sucked in from the bottom and let out from the mouth. What am I?" The correct answer is, "Is it tobacco smoke?"

If you had chosen burp, he would've told you it doesn't originate from the mouth, while the evil spirit choice correlates more to the Kappa. However, tobacco smoke fits the bill, where the man will express his disappointment in your correct answer.

Should you let the riddle man keep the Mon or tell him 'I want my Mon'?

Even with the right answer, you'll still face another conundrum as the man explains how he needs the money for his family. If you choose 'I want my Mon,' you'll gain 100 Mon. But, if you let him keep it, he'll provide you with Scout Intel or a World Rumor. Since it's relatively easy to earn money in Assassin's Creed Shadows, it's best to let him keep it.

When faced with the choice between Scout Intel and World Rumor, remember that both are invaluable for knowledge gathering. The Scout Intel is particularly useful when your Scout meter is depleted, while the World Rumor can save you precious time by pinpointing a unique point of interest on the map. There's not necessarily a wrong choice here, so choose the one that better suits your needs.

As you progress through your Assassin's Creed Shadows playthrough, be prepared for more intriguing riddle situations like the one in Sakai. While I've only encountered this one so far, the randomness of these events means you could stumble upon this man or other NPCs elsewhere.

While roaming around Izumi Settsu, you may have stumbled upon a rumor about a mysterious Kofun. But, once you reach this tomb, the entrance is completely blocked off. We're here to show you how to unlock and solve the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun puzzle in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Where to find Makino Kurumazuka Kofun in AC: Shadows

The Makino Kurumazuka Kofun can be found on the northern side of Izumi Settsu, above the Yawata Plains. A rumor from a villager can point you in this direction, or you can discover it yourself from standard exploration.

At the top of the hill, you'll find a set of stairs leading into the Kofun, with rocks blocking the entrance. Fortunately, no enemies are lingering here, so you can explore it freely.

How to unlock Makino Kurumazuka Kofun

To open the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun in AC: Shadows, switch to Yasuke. He harnesses the ability to carry explosives (items with a target), differing from Naoe, who doesn't have this skill set.

Look for the explosive at the top of the stairs and carry it to the blocked entryway. Then, step back a little to shoot this item with Yasuke's bow or teppo. The entrance should now be accessible once you've performed this attack. If it doesn't work, you can return up the stairs and try again with the second bomb.

How to get all chests in Makino Kurumazuka Kofun

The goal here is to explore the Kofun for valuables, all leading to the Legendary Chest at the end. We'll break down each location to get all the rewards in the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun.

Chest location #1

Once you use the stairs near the entrance, you'll find one small chest at the bottom. It'll be easy to uncover, but the rest are more challenging to locate.

Chest location #2

Look to the right of the first chest to locate a wooden structure. Move it to create a new pathway. If you're having difficulty navigating the darkness, light up any candles on this route. Continue to move more wooden structures out of the way, and you should encounter another rocky entrance. Repeat the procedure of using the nearby explosives to clear the path.

You'll end up back in one of the spots you were at earlier, but now you can use the second bomb to destroy the blocked entrance above.

Travel through this entryway and take a left at the crossroads to uncover a chest of resources at the end of the path.

Chest location #3

Return to the crossroads and take a right this time. Continue down this route, and you'll eventually reach a body of water. Dive down to open a chest on the right side.

Chest location #4

Swim across to the other side (at the third chest location) and walk forward. Strike a set of wooden crates with one of Yasuke's weapons. Pick up an explosive inside and throw it across the rocky terrain ahead. Shoot it to open another entryway.

You'll reach a crossroads here: the right turn lets you refill your tools, and the left turn gets closer to a nearby chest. Crouch at the left turn and then jump down. Although it looks like you can walk across the rope, it will break if Yasuke goes on it. Instead, move the wooden structure to the right, where you'll find the chest inside.

Legendary Chest location

While at the fourth chest location, move the wooden structure to the pit area to reach the elevated terrain (where the rope connects). Jump on top of it to get to the following location.

In the next room, you must move the wooden structure in the slot between two platforms on the left, creating a stair-like contraption. You'll also need to move the other wooden structure below one of the platforms to go through a hidden entryway. Move this one to the right slot, which will help you later. Then, go through this secret area and travel down this pathway.

Move two wooden structures at the new location and throw the explosives down into the room with the stair-like build.

Use your build to carry and throw the explosive to the rocky terrain above.

Shoot the bomb and jump across to claim the Legendary Chest at Makino Kurumazuka Kofun.

You'll earn the Blush of the Earth Legendary Bow and Extend Clear Mind Engraving. Plus, if it's your first time exploring a Kofun in AC: Shadows, you'll earn the Kofun Raider trophy. Exit out of this area by moving the two wooden structures on the right, taking you back to where you first started.

The mysterious butterflies found in the vibrant streets of Osaka are the key to unlocking The Butterfly Collector questline. One of these items will lead you to the All Will be Well mission, where you must locate and eliminate Richo. Here's where to find her in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

AC: Shadows The Butterfly Collector Richo location

After you've collected the Secret Origami Letter from Richo Butterfly, you'll unlock the All Will be Well sub-quest in Osaka. According to the clues, you must find a burnt well north of the Temple of Osaka. There are a lot of wells around this area, but the one you're looking for will be above the Gear Vendor.

The burnt well will be surrounded by debris, and you must get closer to it to listen to gardeners nearby. Wait until their conversation ends, and you'll receive a hint about a "bamboo grove."

You'll then trigger the Forest Fugitive sub-quest in the Butterfly Collector storyline. Travel to the northeast side of Noda Village, which will be above the Osaka Castle.

While exploring Noda Village, you'll find a cabin deep inside the bamboo grove. Richo will be there, and you can sneak up behind her for a stealthy kill. Or, just run up to her for a full frontal assault. Although this battle isn't too challenging, you should still watch out for her deadly attacks. These Butterfly Collector targets have a pretty mean kick, so do your best to dodge them.

After the elimination, check the small cabin near Richo's body. One of the missing children is inside, and you can follow her to complete the Forest Fugitive quest in Assassin's Creed Shadows.  

You'll receive rewards such as Mon, weapons, and the Trinket of Childlike Bravery. You can also check off one of the targets in the Butterfly Collector quest. In total, this AC: Shadows mission requires you to eliminate five targets, giving you a 5,000 XP bonus and more. If you've been wandering around Osaka, you may have stumbled upon a few butterflies on a tree. They are classified as a 'Quest Item' without much instructions on unlocking or completing this mission. We're here to show you what to do with the butterflies in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

What to do with butterflies in AC: Shadows

To unlock the quest for the butterflies in AC: Shadows, you must find the Butterfly Collector in Katano. A rumor from a resident may point you in her direction (Scouts can point you there), leading you to the left side of Katano Castle. You'll find a woman here, right next to an Ornament Vendor.

Talk to the woman; she'll ask you to find ten origami butterflies in Osaka. Osaka will be just below Katano, and traveling there shouldn't take long if you haven't reached it yet.

All Origami Butterfly locations in AC: Shadows

To help you complete the Butterfly Collector's quest, we'll break down each butterfly location.

Pink Origami Butterfly location

Travel to the bridge connecting Osaka and Sakai to locate a horse stable (left of Fishermen's District). Enter this establishment to find the Pink Butterfly on a tree near the water.

Blue Origami Butterfly location

Head towards the Temple of Osaka to spot a prayer area. Look above to grab the butterfly on another tree.

Secret Origami Message from Mucho Butterfly location

You can find a secret message when you discover the butterfly (hidden in bushes) near the Kojo Ruins bridge. This is one of the first items that triggers a mission, where you must kill targets in the Butterfly Collector hit list. You can start on this quest later on if you want to find the other butterflies first.

Red Origami Butterfly location

Another butterfly can be found nearby, towards the northern side of Osaka Temple.

Orange Butterfly location

Go to the south side of Osaka Temple, towards the water. The Orange Butterfly will be to the left of the boat.

Yellow Butterfly location

Above the Osaka Gear Trader, you'll find a butterfly near some houses and a forge station.

Secret Origami Letter from Richo Butterfly location

Travel to one of the bridges near the Osaka Kakurega location. Towards the waterside, you'll see a butterfly on a tree. Like the Secret Origami Message from Mucho, you'll unlock a mission to eliminate Richo.

Secret Origami Letter from Shucho Butterfly location

Travel further down from the Osaka Kakurega to locate a third secret message by the water. Explore the Fishermen's District to find one of the missing children near some horses.

Green Butterfly location

Travel to a residential area of Osaka to uncover the following butterfly near a shed.

Purple Butterfly location

To the left of Nishinomaru Gardens, you'll discover a waterway where one of the butterflies resides. Find it on a tree near this area.

Gold is one of the rarest and most coveted resources in Assassin's Creed Shadows, essential for powerful tool upgrades. There are some strategies to boost your chances of getting your hands on this precious currency, and we're here to show you what to do.

Where to find Gold in Assassin's Creed Shadows

You can acquire Gold in AC: Shadows by using the following methods:

• Trading with Itinerant Vendors
• Completing Contracts
• Eliminating Bandits
• Assassinating mini-bosses
• Exchange Keys in the Animus

If you have some extra Mon to spend, you can find traders with Gold in their inventory. While the other techniques will require more time and patience, they'll at least provide it to you at no cost. However, it should be noted that you can't farm a ton of Gold all at once, as you typically only get one or two from each drop. Let's break down each method to help you understand their procedures.

Trading with Itinerant Vendors

Itinerant Vendors are traders who pop up in various regions. One of the first ones I encountered was a Port Trader in Osaka, where she had a couple of Gold for sale. The only downside is that the price is pretty steep, costing 10,375 Mon for one Stock. You may have better luck with other vendors, especially with seasonal changes, to hopefully lower the cost of Gold.

Completing Contracts

When unlocking a Hideout, you'll gain access to Contracts, including ones from the Settsu Board. Gold sometimes appears as a reward, but you must complete a specific objective first. The tasks shouldn't be too complicated to achieve, from killing a particular target to destroying goods.

Eliminating Bandits

Almost every region has an Objective hub that's exclusive to their locations. Like the Contracts, you'll occasionally get Gold when eliminating a certain amount of Bandits. For instance, the Out to Pasture quest in the People of Settsu section offers a Gold piece after you've killed 100 Bandits. Other residents may provide you with this rare resource, so ensure to return to them once you've reached the target goal.

Assassinating mini-bosses

The mini-bosses, known as the Samurai Daisho, have the potential to drop Gold. Raid enemy castles to find these enemies, where they'll be marked with their distinct boss icon. I got a piece of Gold after taking a Samurai Daisho down at Katano Castle, and there are likely more of them at the other strongholds.

Exchange Keys in the Animus

Enter the Animus Exchange in the menu to unlock Gold rewards with Keys. You'll earn Keys with enough Data Fragments, which you'll obtain when stabilizing Anomalies throughout the map. With enough currency, you can exchange them from an active project and acquire the Gold from specific tiers (similar to a standard game battle pass).

How to use Gold in Assassin's Creed Shadows

You can utilize Gold to upgrade tool levels to match your player rank. Typically, you'll have to increase a tool's rank one by one with resources, but with the Gold, you can skip this entire process to match your level automatically. For instance, if I had a Level 10 Kusarigama and my rank was at Level 18, my weapon would instantly change to Level 18. Speak to the forge master, Heiji, at the Hideout to unlock these enhancements, where you can choose to 'Use 1 Gold'.

In addition to the rank boost, you won't need to use other crafting materials when exchanging Gold. Every upgrade generally utilizes a specific set of resources, but with Gold, you'll get to save up on these materials.

Instead of using Assassin's Creed's traditional eagle system, Shadows utilizes a unique Scout feature that determines key points of interest. Finding Kyonyo is one of the first objectives you'll encounter, and we're here to show you how to find him.

AC: Shadows Kyonyo location, explained

The Fatherless Monk quest enlists you to locate Kyonyo, a warrior monk who may have some clues about the killers of Fujibayashi Nagato. Based on the mission's hint, we know this monk is at the Gansenji Temple in south Sakai. You'll find Sakai in between Izumi Coast and Osaka. Just below it, you'll see a question mark where Kyonyo resides. You can select the Scout Objective to dispatch one of your allies, pinpointing the exact location.

When reaching the quest waypoint, continue toward the question mark below Sakai. You can also use your aim (L2/LT for the controller or right-click on the mouse for PC) to determine where Kyonyo is. Look around, and you should spot a blue dot. Mark it to guide you towards Gansenji Temple.

Defeat all the enemies once you reach the temple, whether with sneak attacks or full-frontal assaults. Then, talk to Kyonyo to discover the whereabouts of your father's killer. You'll have one of your first dialogue options with him: "I've come seeking vengeance" or "I'm here to keep a promise." Both options produce the same result, so select any one. You'll encounter another decision shortly after, but again, you're free to pick whichever one.

By the end of the Assassin's Creed Shadows' Fatherless Monk quest, you'll receive the Level 5 Shrouded Shinoni Robes and Kyonyo's Letter. This new gear is an exceptional starter armor, increasing your damage at night by +20 percent. Use it to survive through the target's following tasks: The Killing Field and Stolen Faith. You can utilize your Scouts here to help determine these mission's targets. However, you may need to refill your Scout meter if you don't have enough allies to send out.

Gathering wood is one of the first steps you need to take for your crafting journey. Unlike most games, you can't simply chop down trees to get this resource, but there are a few alternative ways to find them. Here's how to get Wood in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

AC: Shadows Wood farming guide

You can acquire Wood in AC: Shadows through the following methods:

• Loot enemy strongholds
• Smuggle resources with Scouts
• Purchase from vendors
• Complete Settsu Board Contracts

If you're just starting your Shadows journey, your main targets should be enemy strongholds. Although it'll be challenging to eliminate all enemies within this area, you'll earn plenty of rewards once you've cleared the place. You may earn money from these endeavors, giving you enough currency to buy them from vendors. Let's go over each method to help you farm wood.

Enemy strongholds

While at enemy castles or camps, you'll often find wood in bundles. You can initially start with strongholds like Katano Castle, Osaka Castle, and Amagasaki Castle. Look for gold circle icons using your aim, which may turn out to be wood. You may even discover rare resources like Gold when trying to take down the Samurai Daisho in these areas.

Smuggling resources

In addition to finding bundles, castles typically include a locked area filled with resources. Defeat the enemies in any of these locations, and you'll eventually find a key. Use it on any locked building, and instruct your Scouts to smuggle materials inside. Sometimes, you don't need to eliminate any enemies, as the smuggled resources will be out in the open. No matter what, smuggling typically costs two allies, so ensure to refill your Scout meter.

You should receive your smuggled materials by the following seasonal change. To alter the seasons, progress through the story, or manually do it via the menu screen.

Purchasing from vendors

If you don't mind spending money, you can talk to vendors about purchasing wood with Mon. You can find one of the Port Traders at Sakai early on in your journey, where you can typically buy Wood for six Mon each. However, a vendor's inventory and prices seem to fluctuate, possibly depending on the season.

Settsu Board Contracts

You'll have access to Contracts on the Settsu Board when unlocking additional Hideouts. Browse through these objectives to pinpoint ones with Wood rewards. For example, the mission 'Plunder resources' provides you with this material after you've looted all the targets northeast of Amagasaki.

As a versatile assassin, Naoe has the power to wield various tools, from a long-range Kusarigama to a traditional Katana. We're here to rank them all with this Assassin's Creed Shadows Naoe weapon tier list.

Best Naoe weapons in AC: Shadows, ranked

AC: Shadows offers five weapon qualities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. While the Legendary rarity boasts some of the highest damage rates in the game, other types still have value, especially during the early stages. We'll break down the best weapons for Naoe, starting with the sought-after S Tiers and ending with the relatively adequate C Tiers.

S Tier

Most of Naoe's S Tier weapons derive from the Legendary class, where you'll often need to go against a formidable foe to unlock. The Death Whisperer Kusarigama is, by far, my most treasured weapon, inflicting +200 damage from enemy collisions. It's also great for large groups as you swing it around to hit multiple targets. What's more, you can get this Kusarigama pretty early on, making it an exceptional starter weapon.

If you're looking for a more traditional approach to Naoe's build, go for a Katana. The Masked Death, in particular, harnesses one of the best Weapon DPS stats, depending on your rank. The remaining categories from this tool, including Posture DPS, Ability Damage, and Adrenaline Gain, are drastically superior, outpacing other weapons by a wide margin.

For close-range battles, the Call of the Void is a fantastic Tanto, inflicting +30% damage on tagged enemies. It's helpful for Naoe's many sneaking missions, primarily when you've scoped out a surrounding area.

A Tier

You can get your hands on the Shinobi's Fury and Igan Sunset Tantos from the starter Izumi Settsu region. Although they aren't as high-leveled as the Call of the Void, they are worthwhile with their unique abilities. While Igan Sunset slows down time with an Escape Strike, Shinobi's Fury makes enemies more vulnerable with weak point attacks.

The other two weapons in the A Tier come from exclusive bundles from the store or Animus. I've put them at this rank since they can be relatively challenging to get, either requiring a premium purchase or loads of Key farms. Regardless, these Kusarigama deliver outstanding DPS rates, serving as one of the best weapons for Naoe in AC: Shadows.

B Tier

The B-tier Naoe weapons fall under the Uncommon or Rare rarity categories, stepping down from the Legendary tier. Each tool packs a solid punch and proves to be essential as you navigate the early stages of your journey.

For example, Saburo's Deference provides a +100% Adrenaline Gain when you're in critical health, giving you more opportunities to trigger abilities and turn the tide of battle in your favor.

C Tier

Similar to the B Tier, C Tier weapons are great for beginners, but they start to fall short as you venture deeper into the game. Even though they serve their purpose early on, their damage output is noticeably weaker compared to higher-tier options, making it harder to mow down tougher enemies.

I recommend upgrading to more powerful gear as you advance through the story, aiming for those Legendary weapons once you're ready to take on the game's brutal challenges.

Considering the extensive size of the Assassin's Creed Shadows, there are a lot more weapons to discover for Naoe. I'll be sure to update this Naoe weapon tier list once I've acquired more tools in my playthrough.

The Assassin's Creed series has evolved its ally systems, with Shadows offering a more complex dynamic with Scouts. These companions are crucial for tackling tough challenges but are somewhat limiting in numbers. Here's how to refill your Scout meter in AC: Shadows.

How to recharge Scout meter in AC: Shadows

As you embark on your Assassin's Creed Shadows adventures, your first task is to acquire a Scout. These companions are invaluable for exploring regions and smuggling resources. However, each use depletes the Scout meter, temporarily limiting your access to these allies. You can replenish this meter with the following techniques:

• Trigger a seasonal change
• Refill Scouts at Kakuregas
• Helping citizens to gain Scout Intel

If you don't want to spend any coin, you can progress through the main campaign to change the seasons. You may alter it yourself from the World Map, where you'll see an option to 'Change Season.' It won't always be available, but it will be accessible from time to time. In return, all your Scouts will come back, allowing you to use them again.

You can also buy a refill at a nearby Kakurega home base, typically costing around 800 Mon to unlock. Look for some bags on the wall and select 'Refill Scouts.' Each Scout replenishment requires 200 Mon each, but it may come at a higher price later in the game.

Lastly, you can refill your Scouts by helping random NPCs around the map. These characters won't have any quest markers, so you'll need to keep your eyes sharp while exploring. One such example is the man who prompts you with a riddle challenge in Sakai. Once you've assisted NPCs like this, you'll have the choice between Scout Intel or World Rumor. Choose the former option to recharge the meter.

Additional Scouts can be recruited by completing various quests or upgrading the Study room. Boosting your allies is essential, as at least two are needed to smuggle materials. Smuggling brings in more resources for your hideout and reduces Scout costs through Stable enhancements. Plus, if you need help with combat, you can recruit unique characters like Yaya.

While the assassin life can be brutal, it's not all doom and gloom. You can unwind by snuggling up to cats and dogs, even bringing them back to your Hideout. Discover how to adopt pets in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, adding a lot more cuteness to your home base.

How do you adopt pets in AC: Shadows?

Almost every town in the AC: Shadows map includes an animal, and you can pet a cat or dog to add them to your Codex. Look around places like Osaka and Sakai to trigger their appearance. However, it's best not to look in enemy strongholds since they don't seem to roam there. If you pre-ordered the game, you'll get an exclusive animal in the Thrown to the Dogs quest. Once you've some good pets in, you'll transport the animals to your Hideout.

While at your Hideout, select 'Improve Hideout' when exploring or via the table in the main house. You can now place down a pet in the Build section to adopt them. Select any cat or dog in an open area at the Hideout. After encountering a particular breed, you can set down multiple of them and build an animal empire. The Tsuki-maru from the Thrown to the Dogs quest is the only exception, as this unique companion doesn't come in packs.

You'll earn the AC: Shadows Everybody Benefits! trophy once you've adopted a pet. In return, you can find and interact with the dogs and cats at your home base. Although they don't offer any rewards, the animals are just too adorable to resist giving a pet or two. If you aren't sure where the Tsuki-maru is, you can use the 'Locate' button in the Build menu to narrow down their location (the others don't have this feature.)

Continue to travel around the regions to find more pets to adopt. There are a lot of breeds to discover, including Black Akita, Calico Kitten, and Tabby Bobtail. You can go full Pokémon Trainer mode and catch 'em all—just like it's your ultimate quest to collect every last one in Shadows.

Unlike Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Shadows allows you to control Naoe and Yasuke, giving you a unique perspective on various storylines. You'll have the freedom to change characters, but it won't be available initially. We're here to show you how to switch between Naoe and Yasuke in AC: Shadows.

How to change characters in AC: Shadows

During the beginning of Assassin's Creed Shadows, you'll play as Yasuke for a short while, followed by a much longer gameplay with Naoe. You must complete Act 1 to gain the "Character Switch" feature, which unlocks after you've killed the third target on the Shinbakufu hit list. Reaching this point may take a bit, especially if you're getting lost in side content. I didn't even get to Act 1 until 16 hours later, so it will undoubtedly take some time.

Once you complete this act, you can switch between Yasuke and Naoe via the Inventory or Fast Travel menus. Avoid conflict or restricted zones when using this feature, because you won't be able to utilize it otherwise. The Inventory route is the most accessible option, letting you make the change right from the menu.

If you've opened a fast travel point on the map, you can choose to travel with your current character or switch them out for an alternate route. It's perfect for situations when a specific character is Wanted in a region, where you can substitute them with another character with a clean slate.

Sometimes, you can't access the Character Switch feature, even if you're out of enemy zones. You'll likely need to progress in the main campaign or return to your Hideout (certain situations can lock you out of content).

While Naoe excels in climbing and sneaky missions, Yasuke is great for large enemy groups or when you simply need his brute force. Areas like the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun require Yasuka's skillset, as Naoe cannot pick up particular objects. In general, it's best to make the switch anytime you're stuck in an area, given that Naoe and Yasuke possess distinct abilities.

Black Ops 6 Zombies The Tomb left us with another cliffhanger, hinting at a possible new location. The next Zombies map will presumably be "Shattered Veil," the latest area of Project Janus. Here's what to expect for the Shattered Veil, including a potential release date and features.

When does the Shattered Veil map come out in BO6 Zombies?

Although Verdansk has primarily taken the lead on BO6 and Warzone Season 3, Treyarch is still cooking with Zombies content. A few snippets have been shown, starting with a log from the fan-favorite character Edward Richtofen. We recently got a confirmation that the Shattered Veil map, previously known as "The Mansion," will be released in Season 3, either on April 3 or during the mid-season point.

Since Zombies teasers have been rolling out before the Season 3 launch, it's highly likely that Shattered Veil will debut on April 3. However, we have seen mid-season releases in the past, including the fan-favorite Citadelle des Morts.

Everything we know about the BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil map so far

The Shattered Veil presumably takes place in a mansion, which is likely why it was originally given this title. The first teaser shows this building covered in black smoke, with an outside setting similar to Citadelle des Morts' Town Square. The post teases, "Personal log. Edward Richtofen recording," suggesting he may finally be a playable character.

Considering that Richtofen has been mentioned in this post, his creation, the Wunderwaffe DG-2, could be the next Wonder Weapon. Before Black Ops 6 was released, we saw Edward holding this device in the Liberty Falls trailer, and now it seems like it'll be available in the Shattered Veil. Nevertheless, there's still potential for other Wonder Weapons to appear, whether an elemental staff or an entirely new tool.

Another BO6 Zombies teaser goes inside the building, displaying a painting of a mysterious man. Many fans believe this person in question is tied to Black Ops 4's The Order, as his clothing relatively matches the characters from this game. The Order was known for using Sentinel Artifacts, which is also a part of BO6's The Tomb. With these two hints, the Order may make a return, spreading chaos in Zombies once more.

While we're still eagerly awaiting more details about the Shattered Veil, whispers in the community hint that this map might be on a more intimate scale compared to the others. If the rumors hold true, it could be roughly the size of Liberty Falls, though nothing is set in stone just yet. I'll update this guide whenever the official news drops.

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance featured a brutal hardcore mode, bringing a new challenge for experienced players. The sequel promises a fresh twist on this, but it won't be available until after launch. Here's when you can expect KCD2's hardcore mode to finally make its debut.

When does Hardcore mode come out in KCD2?

According to the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 roadmap, hardcore mode will be released sometime in the Spring of 2025. The new updates have already started rolling out with the latest Barber feature, and now Hardcore Mode is the next one on the list. This could mean it will arrive as soon as late March or early April.

While we have yet to get an official release date, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's official Twitter/X states that "hardcore mode is coming soon." I speculate that it will be coming in early April, given that the Barber Mode was pretty substantial (90 GB, to be exact). Having another major update in the same month may not seem promising, but there's still hope for an additional patch release.

If KCD2's hardcore mode is anything like its predecessor, there will certainly be a lot included with the upcoming patch. For example, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance removed handy features like fast travel, Henry's health/stamina bar, and auto-saves. The second iteration will likely follow suit, but we won't know for sure until more details are revealed.

We'll also be getting horse racing either with the following update or sometime after hardcore mode's launch. You may want to start preparing for this by looking for the best horses in the game, particularly ones with high speed. By the summertime, you can look forward to the new bonus quests from the expansion pass. This includes the Brushes with Death during the Summer, Legacy of the Forge in Autumn, and Mysteria Ecclesiae in Winter.
